Kenny Starfighter

Sweden

SVT1

Some kids discover that there's something wrong with their school; their teachers are acting weird and the teaching therefore also becomes weird. An intergalactic hero, Kenny Starfighter, crashes his space-bus (very similar to that of Lone Starr in Spaceballs) in their little society and soon, they team up in order to solve the mystery of the school. It turns out that the person behind it all is the evil Dr. Deo (who, as a revenge for having been turned down by the princess of planet Mylta because of his foul smell, wants to build a machine that will transform Mylta into a giant deodorant roll-on ball), the very villain Kenny Starfighter is out to catch. Their quest takes them deep beneath the school and brings them many encounters. And all the time, there's a feeling of mystery over it all.

The Concert

Soul Music

Channel 4

The series closely follows the plot of the novel, which, like many of Pratchett's novels it introduces an element of modern society into the magical and vaguely late medieval, early modern world of the Disc, in this case Rock and Roll music and stardom, with nearly disastrous consequences. It also introduces Susan Sto Helit, daughter of Mort and Ysabell and granddaughter of Death. The series takes the association of the "Band with Rocks In" with the Beatles even further than the book does, evolving their style from 1950s rock and early 1960s beat music (and mixing-bowl haircuts) in Ankh-Morpork, to acid rock in Scrote, to spiritual hippie rock in Quirm. In Sto Lat, they sound like the Jimi Hendrix Experience or Bad Company, but are dressed in clothes similar to the Beatles on the cover of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.

Owl's Well That Ends Well

The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is a charming animated series that will capture both kids and their parents alike, with all-new outings featuring Pooh and the whole gang in the 100 Acre Wood. The world-famous bear, created by British author, A.A. Milne, is joined by his young master Christopher Robin, the ever-bouncy Tigger, the glum donkey Eeyore, the incurable know-it-all Rabbit, the always-confused Owl, squeaky Piglet, and the mother and son team of Kanga and Roo. Featuring quality animation along with original songs and scores, this series has the touching emotional qualities and "not just for kids" humor of the original Winnie the Pooh books.
