While some users mistake him for the Vice Housewarden, he does not hold that title—a fact confirmed by Leona himself, who stated, "Savanaclaw doesn't have a Vice Housewarden." However, he is depicted assisting the Housewarden—such as by accompanying him to the entrance ceremony—and is recognized by those around him as Savanaclaw's de facto second-in-command. His loyalty to Leona stems from the rewards he receives—such as keeping the change—after running errands; he is a shrewd and resourceful individual. He describes the relationship as one of "mutual give-and-take" (a dynamic that also mirrors the legend of the hyena serving the King of Beasts). Having grown up in poverty, he has a voracious appetite. He learned to cook from his grandmother and possesses the skill to whip up a meal using whatever ingredients are at hand. He believes that even weeds can be edible if prepared correctly; in fact, he had intended to eat the dandelions growing on campus.
