She refers to herself as "Washi" and speaks with a dialect resembling Hiroshima-ben (often ending sentences with "ja"), a manner of speaking she picked up from watching yakuza movies. She also frequently adds the prefix "do-" (an intensifier) ​​to words. According to Mina, the Spee was en route to a joint exercise with Japan when the ship's electronics suffered a mysterious malfunction and the crew stopped obeying Captain Thea Kreutzer; acting on Thea's orders, Mina escaped the ship to report this abnormal situation. She and Thea have been best friends since junior high school, and Thea entrusted her captain's cap to Mina upon her escape. Aboard the Harekaze, she shared a cabin with Mashiro Soya and remarked that the room—filled with stuffed animals—was wonderful.
